Unit 11 is a Type III Ambulance manufactured by Horton and purchased through FESCO Emergency Sales. It is a 2020 E-450 chassis with a 7.3L EFI V8 engine. Notably, this is the largest production motor produced by Ford and is affectionally known as the “Godzilla” motor. Unit 11 has a larger patient care compartment and more leg room in the cab. Additionally, Unit 11 has an improved heat/AC unit, an integrated seat for pediatric patients, and uses the Stryker PowerLOAD system for its stretcher. U11 has responded to more than 1,350 calls for service.

Unit 10 is a Type III Ambulance also manufactured by Horton and purchased through FESCO Emergency Sales. It is a 2015 E-350 with a 6.8L EFI V-10 engine. It is the first ambulance purchased by GERMS that includes Horton’s state-of-the-art Intelliplex i4G interface system that allows vital controls like lights, climate control, onboard oxygen and suction, and emergency settings to be accessed either from the patient compartment or the cab. Unit 10 was delivered to campus in 2015 and since that time has responded to more than 3,600 calls for service.

EMS 1 is a 2015 Ford Taurus that serves as a command and support vehicle for the organization. EMS 1 is utilized by duty officers and command staff to respond to incidents, provide on-scene supervision, and assist with operational coordination. Equipped with emergency warning lights, a siren system, and communications equipment, EMS 1 enhances our ability to provide effective oversight and support during emergency responses.
